CHAPTER 14 - LORD KṚṢṆA EXPLAINS THE YOGA SYSTEM TO ŚRĪ UDDHAVA
Chapter 14 contains 46 verses and it is divided into 11 classes, totaling 5:50 hours.
We start a new chapter with this class, with the important topic of how to choose the right spiritual path and practices. There are so many recommendations, are they all equally important? Or is there one that stands supreme? This is Uddhava’s question which Krishna now starts to answer. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.1-7.
In this class, we see Krishna explaining why there are so many different religions and endless different ideas of what is best for us. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.8-10.
Krishna now explains the benefits of bhakti-yoga, and the experience of unrivalled happiness that can be achieved, comparing the path of explained by Him to that of those stuck in materialism. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.11-12.
In this class we explain HOW bhakti leads to yogic perfection, allowing us to achieve otherwise nearly impossible states of mind almost effortlessly. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.13-14.
Krishna explains the importance of the pure devotee and how He Himself loves that devotee above all else. Krishna explains that power such a devotee has of purifying the world. In this class, we see Krishna list the wonderful qualities of the pure devotees. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.15-17.
Krishna now addresses the situation of the still not perfect bhakti-yogi or devotee. A devotee who is dealing with challenges and mistakes, has piles of sins and karma stored. Krishna explains the power of bhakti-yoga in this regard. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.18-21.
Krishna now does deeper into the importance of bhakti and of experiencing transformative ecstatic symptoms of divine love. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.22-25.
Krishna explains the power of absorbing the mind on Him, in hearing and chanting about Him, as a means to regain our spiritual vision, to once again attain our spiritual freedom. Then we discuss Krishna’s instructions to avoid women. How are we to interpret such statements? And what is the best way to understand and deal with our sexuality in the spiritual path? In this class, we covered verses 11.14.26-30.
Krishna now explains techniques for pranayama and meditation, to fix the mind in yoga. He talks about the chakras, OM, and elevating prana too. In this class, I explain the difference between the path of meditation only and the path of enlightened life, and why past spiritual masters have not practiced this kind of meditation described here. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.31-35.

Krishna finishes the description of the Paramatma meditation, urging the meditating yogi to then go beyond meditation and simply BE with Krishna. In the class we described the relationship between the soul and God, the concept of Acintya-bhedabheda, in comparison with the Advaita and Dvaita concepts. We also explain the meaning of the term “part and parcel”. In this class, we covered verses 11.14.43-46.
